About Me

Hi. Welcome to my website. I am Joy Shi.

A friend asked why I wanted to become a real estate agent.

She believed that with my background I could have gone to another industry.

The main reason I became a real estate agent was because I wanted to use this chance to immerse myself in property investment.

My driving force was curiosity and inquisitiveness: I wanted to find out exactly how people made money when they buy or sell their properties.

So I started from the bottom about 5 years ago to pick up the skills and knowledge as I have zero background.

In the journey, I saw my fair share of transactions of big gains and big losses.

Today, I am happy to share that I've helped more than 100 families and investors to find their dream home or investment property.

For myself, I also picked up my first investment property a few years back.

You can check out this video below to find out more about my decision-making process.

My Background

Before I was in real estate, I was in the airline industry.

For three years, I wore the iconic blue batik dress working as a flight stewardess onboard Singapore Airlines. It was a very interesting experience serving people from all walks of life.

More importantly, I learnt what it means to be in the service industry.

I left the job as I had the chance to shadow the top corporate executive in well-known airline. That was an educational and eye-opening experience as I learnt what it takes to make decisions that will impact thousands of employees and staff.

This executive was not gunning for the next promotion or job.

She was already at the peak of her career.

So when people are no longer craving for recognition, their goal will be legacy.

That slight difference in motivation was significant as I saw how it altered her decision-making process.

From her, I knew how important it was to take risks in my own life.

Risk Taking Can Lead To A Life of Fulfillment

Risk is the only path that leads to growth, opportunity, self-direction, transformation, and positive change.

But risk always has to be done right.

It is a series of steps that are measured, thoughtful, intentional, well-planned, and require incremental action, not sudden jumps.

In any forms of investment, risks will always be present. Even for property.

To do well in property, it involves shedding some old beliefs you might have that are no longer relevant in today's market sentiment.

What worked for our parents' generation will no longer serve us today. It is important that we don't pick up their bad habits or misplaced beliefs.

If you have questions regarding your own property or home, I invite to contact me for a no-obligation discussion.
